the 70s style blow out

Image
what i love about this blow-out is that it's so light you can still see the thick afro texture of her hair underneath. and because of that, the style is voluminous and super bouncy. i even like that the blowout is not super sheeny/shiny, like it's straight off the flat iron. this style is bad !

Lina

Image
Lina's texture is similar to mine. What amazes me is that she started growing her hair out just a few years ago. (Back then, she had maybe 4 inches.) In my next post, I'll put up some of her more structured looks.

Oprah, and her natural hair, in the morning

and has the photo to prove it Oprah, and her natural hair, in the morning (photo courtesy of the Huffington Post) So apparently Oprah is on twitter, and a lot of her 'tweeple' have been complimenting her on her weave. At the end of her show Friday, she set the record straight: " This is not a weave, this is my hair. This what my hair look like... This is me before it gets pressed and curled in the morning. "

one of the most beautiful sights in the world, is a long, beautifully textured, obnoxiously voluminous head of natural hair. yep, that is one of the most beautiful sights. wonder why we don't see it more often...

Jenteel with.....

Image
I love her hair color, I think she has a good hair length, and I think she is inventive with her styles. I'm going to profile Jenteel in two parts. This post has looser styles, in the next post, I will show her more structured styles. Bantu knots Braid out Blow out Twist out

rock solid: fallon

Instructions: I add equal parts Bentonite clay with apple cider vinegar until the mixture is the consistency of mashed potatoes. I then add honey and either olive oil or coconut oil. I section my hair in four sections and apply to both my scalp and then hair with an applicator brush. I leave in my hair for about 10 – 15 minutes then rinse out in the shower. Conditioning: After rinsing the Bentonite clay out of my hair I apply a generous amount of conditioner to my hair in four sections and braid in four big braids while I am in the shower. The conditioner changes depending on what I have in my house – sometimes I make concoctions from essential oils, avocados, etc. or I use VO5s, Nature’s Gate, Fructis conditioners etc. I then pin my four braids up using bobby pins and wrap my hair using saran wrap, to lock in the moisture. I wrap my hair in a colorful scarf, add some cute earrings and go about my day. I deep condition at least once a week. I feel that it is one of the most...
